Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in the United States

Our F.O.C.U.S. group is an organization meant to minister to adults between the ages of 23 and 35. It is also a “sub-group” that remains somewhat separate, but still loosely associated within our very successful M.G.O.C.S.M. youth movement. It will cater to the young adults in our American Diocese whose needs are not met by the other existing spiritual organizations such as the M.G.O.C.S.M., Martha Mariam Samajam or the Men’s Forum.

F.O.C.U.S. has four main goals:

  • To provide spiritual guidance such as premarital, marital, career, substance abuse, and family counseling to young adults between the ages of 23 and 35, regardless of marital status, gender, and/or profession.
  • To train these young adults to provide leadership to youngsters in the M.G.O.C.S.M., Sunday School, and OVBS programs in a mentoring relationship.
  • To educate these young adults to better involve themselves in the spiritual, administrative and social activities of the parish so that they may become participant and vital members of the parish.
  • To go after and bring back into the Church fold those young adults and couples who feel removed, estranged, unwelcome, or displeased with the Church as it exists today, for whatever reasons exist.
